Weekend Work Days at Rotary Botanical Gardens

Rotary Botanical Gardens is a nonprofit botanical garden maintained with the help of our community. Weekend Workday is your chance to get your hands in the soil, learn from our expert horticulture staff, and contribute to one of the most beautiful green spaces in the Rock County area.
Volunteers will assist with general gardening tasks including planting, spreading mulch, and seasonal garden care. All skill levels are welcome. You will work alongside RBG's horticulture staff, who will guide you through the day's tasks and answer questions along the way.
What to Expect:
Tasks: planting, mulching, and general horticulture work
Work alongside RBG horticulture staff throughout the session
Tools provided by RBG (you are welcome to bring your own gloves)
Light physical activity: comfortable with bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lbs
What to Wear and Bring:
Closed-toed shoes required
Weather-appropriate clothing (layers recommended for early mornings)
Consider long sleeves, a hat, and sunscreen for sun protection
Personal gloves if preferred (tools and equipment provided)

Rotary Botanical Gardens, 1455 Palmer Drive, Janesville, WI 53545 (check-in location is at the Horticulture Building located on Sharon Rd., please park there)

Capacity is limited to 10 volunteers per session. A waitlist is available for up to 10 additional participants who may be added if capacity expands. You must register by the Friday before each event date to secure your spot.
Cancellations and Refunds
This is a free volunteer registration. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your registration so your spot can be offered to someone on the waitlist.
