Listening to the Land is a guided Nature and Forest Therapy experience inspired by the practice of Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing. This offering invites participants to slow down, step out of daily routines, and engage with the natural world in a mindful, sensory-based way.
The experience will begin with a Tribal land acknowledgment and singing ceremony, offered with respect and gratitude to honor the Indigenous peoples of this land. Participants are invited to listen and witness this opening as a grounding and centering moment before transitioning into the guided nature therapy experience.
Through gentle prompts, intentional pauses, and opportunities for quiet reflection, participants will engage with the land using all five senses. Nature and Forest Therapy is shown to support stress recovery; strengthen immune, respiratory, and cardiovascular health; reduce anxiety and depression; and improve mood, focus, creativity, and overall well-being.
This experience is educational and restorative in nature and is not psychotherapy or clinical treatment. Participants typically leave feeling grounded, refreshed, and more deeply connected—to themselves, to others, and to the land.
