Escape to the Lake: A Dirty Girls' Weekend Retreat at Melvern Lake!
Join Compass Point, home of Dirty Girl Adventures, for an exclusive ladies-only weekend getaway to gorgeous Melvern Lake—just an hour south of Topeka. Fed by the Marais des Cygnes River, this stunning reservoir is the perfect backdrop for a weekend of paddling, unwinding, and connecting with nature and community.
We’re setting up camp at the Outlet Park group campsite, featuring a mix of shade and open space, plus convenient access to water, electricity, and a bathhouse. Whether you love tent camping, prefer sleeping in your car, or want to haul your RV or camper trailer, you’re welcome here! (Just coordinate your setup with us ahead of time). With the lake on one side and the river on the other, we plan to paddle both. Plus, we're just a short trip from the swim beach, so definitely pack your favorite floaties.
The Fine Print: This event is for Dirty Girls ONLY. No membership is required, but please leave the Dirty Dudes, Dirty Kids, and pups at home for this fun weekend retreat.
Check-in starts at 4:00 PM. We'll kick off the weekend with evening kayaking, socializing, and relaxing around the campfire.
- Saturday: A full day of choice! Explore the waters by kayak, hit the trails for a hike, take a dip at the swim beach, or just master the art of "chillaxing" in a hammock or playing cornhole.
- Sunday: Fuel up with breakfast, enjoy one last morning paddle and exploration, and pack up camp.

- Potable water and electricity is available at camp
🛶 What’s Included in Your Registration?
We take care of the heavy lifting so you can actually enjoy your weekend. Your registration covers:
- Complete Event Organization & Camp Hosting: We handle the campsite reservations, stoking the perfect campfires, and providing roasting sticks and delicious desserts.
- Kayaks & Gear: No kayak? No problem. We provide kayaks, paddles, and safety gear for anyone who needs them or doesn't want to haul their own.
- Expert Guiding & On-Water Support: Safety is our top priority. Our experienced team includes a lead guide and safety paddlers on the water. You’ll get professional pacing, first aid support, weather monitoring, and interpretive docent information about the local environment.
💳 Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Cancellations: Full refunds are available up to two weeks before the event date. Refund requests must be sent via email to [email protected]. No refunds can be issued after this two-week window.
- Weather Cancellations: We love an adventure and will happily paddle and hike in cool, rainy, or even snowy conditions! However, if severe or dangerous weather forces Dirty Girl Adventures to cancel the event, everyone will receive a full refund.
