Beginning Monday, April 29th, JCC and a number of collaborating partners will work together to launch Janesville's FIRST Walking School Bus!
Children not accompanied by a parent/guardian MUST have a Walking School Bus Consent Form completed and submitted at least THREE (3) days prior to joining.
Parents/guardians and siblings are welcome to join, no pets please.

Purpose and Explanation of the Program
The Walking School Bus program is designed to get communities to work together to get children to school actively and safely. Children who participate in the program will walk to school led by Janesville Community Center (JCC) staff and adult volunteers. Children will walk independently from their homes to the designated stop, children will NOT be picked up at their door. The Walking School Bus will arrive and stay until the scheduled time ONLY.
Potential Risks
The Walking School Bus program is intended to reduce the risk of injury to children as they travel to school through the use of adult supervision. However, there are risks associated with child pedestrians. These specific risks include, but are not limited to, injury as a result of motor vehicle accidents, falls, overexertion, or other unforeseen events. Adult staff and volunteers will do their best to ensure that no harm comes to any of the participants. The Walking School Bus program will run regardless of weather, so please dress your children appropriately.
Enrichment Activities
The Walking School Bus includes weekly enrichment activities to keep children engaged. I understand that Janesville Community Center may be required to share the information on this form for compliance purposes with partners. I also understand that my child’s participation in these activities is voluntary and not required as part of the Walking School Bus. Signed guardian consent includes my knowledge and permission to photos of my child’s participation that are taken and to be shared with purposes solely tied to Janesville Community Center: Wilson Walking School Bus.
