Dave Donalson, Advanced Sommelier, returns to show us around a limited selection of the wines of Domaine Joseph Drouhin. Over their almost 150 years, the family has reinvested, adapted and refined their biodynamic, low intervention, approach to Wine Growing creating an international presence now in cellars in 90 countries!

Founded in Beaune, France in 1880, Maison Joseph Drouhin is one of the largest and most prestigious wine estates in the Burgundy appellation. The family-owned house now in its 4th generation is world-renowned for its focus on terroir, elegance, and balance, producing exceptional wines primarily from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. They expanded their holdings to over 60 different sub regions AND in 1987 opened and estate in the Dundee Hillls of Willamette Valley, Oregon, then added Roserock Estate in Amity Hills.

Drouhin wines are known for a deliberate "light-touch" approach to extraction, utilizing natural yeasts and minimal new oak. The goal is to emphasize the purity of fruit and the specific nuances of the soil rather than heavy wood or heavy alcohol.
