Wednesdays at The Walk In: The Art of Painting on Pottery with Brigitte King!!There’s something quietly magical about painting on clay — a balance between touch, intention, and surprise. In this workshop, you’ll explore how surface and imagination meet through the delicate art of pottery painting.
Working with smooth porcelain, we’ll experiment with both planned designs and intuitive, flowing brushwork. You’ll learn how paint and glaze interact with the clay, how the kiln transforms your marks, and how each finished piece carries both your hand and a little mystery added by fire.
Brigitte adds, "If you have ever felt drawn to try it, start! Enjoy the feeling of the brush against the surface, the quiet focus it brings. Every painted piece, every imperfect line, tells a bit of your story — and that’s what makes it beautiful and you feel connected not only to the clay but also to centuries of artisans who have turned simple earth into art."
