Wednesday Night Blues at Charly's

The NAZBA Wednesday Night Blues at Charly's February lineup is exciting! On February 5th we have for the first time up from Tucson Nico Barberan! Nico comes to us by way of Chile via Chicago and finally Tucson bringing a unique Latin Blues style with a rock flavor!  His latest album Away Blues is a contemporary high-energy original Blues Rock project where the guitar roars in bold expression. He has performed in Colombia Mexico Ireland and across the United States. Coming to us from Cottonwood on February 12th brings is D.L. Harrison on guitar and vocals. D.L. represented NAZBA in 2017 at the Memphis International Blues Challenge and his style is soulful and energetic giving the audience a lot of familiar tunes they will love to dance to! And we may even get him on the drums where knows his way around that instrument just as well. February 19th brings a familiar Flagstaff performer to Charly's: S.E. (Steve) Willis on vocals keys harmonica and accordion! You'll hear a mixture of traditional and New Orleans style Blues throughout his show and have a hard time sitting in your chair and not getting on the dance floor. Steve is the consummate entertainer having toured with Elvin Bishop for many years and also was a semifinalist in the 2023 Memphis International Blues Challenge. The last show in February coming from Prescott features the great duo of Dennis Herrera on guitar and vocals and Chicago Bob on harmonica and vocals! These two compliment each other in a special way and the audience gets treated to Texas and Chicago style Blues all in one evening! Both performers have recently released new albums: The Dennis Herrera Band's new release is titled "Four" and Chicago Bob and the Blues Squad's release is titled "Gonna Hit the Bricks". Both will be available for sale that evening. Holding down the rhythm section is Roger Smith on bass and Dr. Bob on the drums! After the first set we invite jammers up to play with the band! We ask that you please bring a small amp and/or mic for a quick stage setup. Thanks!
