The Appleton American Legion Post 38 is honored to sponsor one of the green and gold's very own, when Chester Marcol, makes a guest appearance at Post 38, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, during our Wednesday Brat Fry.
As many diehard Packer fans know, Marcol was a Placekicker for the Green Bay Packers from 1972 to 1980. He was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 1987.
Chester, as well as the authors of the book, "Peanut Butter Promises" Steve and Charlene Rose, will be on site to autograph copies of the above book from 11:00-1:00pm.
The book is a hope-and-encouragement filled, priorities-based and integrity-centered life-enhancing philosophy focusing on the talents and gifts given to everyone, even when facing adversity.
In 2017, co-author Charlene Rose produced a half-hour national television documentary called “Only 16: Tragedy of 2 Billys” about her brother Billy Farr, who at 16-years young was a passenger killed in an alcohol-related car accident; and a classmate and friend of Steve Rose, Billy Strassburg, who was killed a year later in another alcohol-rated accident.
The proceeds from the autographed book sales will be used to promote and produce a version of the above documentary to be used in local and state school systems to educate students about the risks of underage drinking and driving. Chester in the above version will appear as a professional counselor, which he does in real life near his home as a drug and alcohol abuse counselor.
