Join us for an evening of Drag Blues!
𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗻 & 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲 will be teaching a 𝟴.𝟯𝟬𝗽𝗺 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 class (after 7.30pm Swing class) which will focus this month on Drag Blues.
New to social dancing? You're very welcome! 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗻 & 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲 have been teaching Blues in Belfast for five years, with those attending their Sunday Blues classes describing it as their favourite day of the week and are super excited to add a second weekly class!
Blues Belfast proudly works in partnership with local charity, 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲. Classes are donation based, PAYG recommending £5 per class or £7.50 for both.
𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗴 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 is a modern dance form of Blues evolved from Strut, Ballroomin' and Slow Drag, vernacular Blues and Jazz dances, danced to the swing rhythms found in Blues and Jazz music. While based on vintage
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀? Blues is a family of Black American vernacular dances, danced to blues music. Blues history roots back in the 19th century and grew up in the Mississippi Delta from African Americans.
