Woven in Wool: Resilience in Coast Salish Weaving comes to a close August 30, 2026. To honor the successful year-long run of this collaborative effort and celebrated exhibition, the Burke Museum invites you to celebrate with us in style.
Please join us for the Burke Museum’s first fashion show, Weaving into the Future. This special soiree will honor and recognize the leaders of the Coast Salish Wool Weaving Center and co-curators of Woven in Wool, featuring new woven wool creations from Chepximiya Siyam Chief Dr. Janice George, sa’hLa mitSa Dr. Susan Pavel, Skwetsimltexw Willard “Buddy” Joseph, SiSeeNaxAlt Gail White Eagle, Haʔməkʷitən Kelly Sullivan, Qw3 ’May Usia Tahnee Hawk Miller, and teeweewas Tillie Jones, plus jewelry by wenanua Al Charles, Jr.
Woven in Wool was created through the collaboration of many hands. Together, we are excited to close out the exhibition and celebrate Coast Salish Weaving into the Future.
The fashion show will be followed by a reception. Heavy hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.
