Wear Your Roots: NATURAL DYE & ART WORKSHOP
About this Event
Roots in Colour: African & Caribbean Printmaking for Children
Discover how nature, creativity and culture come together in this exciting hands-on workshop for children and families. Inspired by African and Caribbean traditions, participants will explore how plants, flowers, leaves and natural materials have been used for generations to create vibrant colours, including dyes such as indigo, which have played an important role in art, clothing and cultural expression across the world.
Using plant-based colours, children will create their own unique designs on T-shirts, drawing inspiration from African and Caribbean patterns, symbols and stories. Combining creativity, heritage and sustainability, this fun and engaging workshop celebrates the ingenuity of our ancestors while encouraging young people to express themselves through colourful, wearable art.
