We Were Here: Slay the Back of the House Down!
About this Event
We Were Here is a collaborative program between LOOKOUT and the AZ LGBT+ History Project, designed to explore Arizona’s queer history through music, culture, and intergenerational conversation. Each session pairs an elder in the community with younger community members doing similar work, covering different themes.
Attendees gain both historical context and contemporary perspective, creating a bridge between past and present queer culture.
On July 25 from 11-1 p.m., we're discussing the history of food in Arizona's queer scene. We're bringing together Johjn Birdsall, author of "What is Queer Food?" in conversation with former and current restaurant owners from some of your favorite places including AZ 88, FEZ, The Royale Kitchen & Cocktails, Phoenix Coqui, and Brasserie on Melrose.
This event includes light bites and brunch drinks.
This event is free to the public, with a preferred donation of $8 per ticket.
