We the People': Music for a free PalestineThe people will always be the ones to overthrow oppressive regimes. Within that, artists play an important role to amplify & sustain liberation movements & to uphold the people. Join us as DJs, selectors and musicians join forces in solidarity with Palestine in our hearts. Music collective, Future Nostalgia collaborates with musicians from F.M.F.P (Free Music Free Palestine) for an afternoon of sounds of liberation in the form of improvised jazz and deep crate-digging as we remember one year of genocide and 76 years of occupation.

F.M.F.P: Free Music Free Palestine is a rotating collective of musicians and a poet formed after October 7th last year, expressing their solidarity with the people of Palestine and connecting other struggles against imperialism through their music. All the music is improvised and, along with the poetry, is intended to serve as a space for reflection, rage, grief and optimism, for the audience and the musicians. The band often play at occupations, vigils, rallies and marches and host their own regular fundraising events. Their line-up includes: Zwide Ndwande, Asher Gamedze, Keegan Steenkamp, Thandi Gamedze, Reza Khota, Garth Erasmus, Nobuhle Ashanti and Ru Slayen.
Future Nostalgia is a music and art collective that has hosted regular listening sessions in South Africa since 2013, sharing music through exploring records. Their tagline is βFor Selectors, Collectors, Deejays and Diggersβ celebrating the universal love for music and creating a free open space to gather in the spirit of community. For many years Future Nostalgia has aligned philosophically and politically with the struggles of the people of Palestine manifesting through their own solidarity gigs, exhibitions, DJ mixes, radio shows, vigils, articles and artworks. Future Nostalgia members include co-founders arts journalist Atiyyah Khan (El Corazon), filmmaker Dylan Valley (Bro Slovo), designer Graeme Arendse (Boeta Gee) and visual artist Grant Jurius (Futurist).
