We the People is an America250 summer choir experience with the Timpanogos Singers centered on songs of belonging, hope, and the enduring American promise—created in honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary.Rehearsals will be held Tuesdays, May 26 through July 7 from 6:30–8:30pm (with a special 7:00–9:00pm rehearsal on June 9) at the Timp Arts Center (53 W Main in American Fork), culminating in a performance at the Valentine Theater on July 14 at 7:00pm.
Drawing from spirituals, folk music, Broadway, and beloved popular songs, this project invites singers and audiences alike to reflect on what brings us together—and what calls us forward. Featuring music such as When You Believe, Down to the River to Pray, This Land Is Your Land, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Let It Be, Simple Gifts, and You’ll Never Walk Alone, the program celebrates faith, perseverance, community, and the power of collective voice in uncertain times.
The project is already funded; singers will simply pay a $30 materials fee to cover the cost of music. There may also be a performance T-shirt fee, to be determined by choir vote at rehearsal.
