WE THE PEOPLE
An America 250 Celebration
July 14, 7pm @ The Valentine Theater
Join the Timpanogos Singers for an uplifting evening of music, storytelling, history, faith, and hope as we celebrate the ideals, struggles, and aspirations that have shaped the American experience.
Drawing upon the words of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Emma Lazarus, Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, and others, We the People explores America's ongoing effort to "form a more perfect Union." Through beloved folk songs, spirituals, patriotic favorites, Broadway selections, and contemporary choral works, this program reflects on the gifts, sacrifices, challenges, and hopes that unite generations of Americans.
The evening's musical journey includes:
• "Yankee Doodle Blues"
• "The Stars and Stripes Forever"
• "Simple Gifts"
• "Down in the River to Pray"
• "My Country, 'Tis of Thee"
• "Bridge Over Troubled Water"
• "When You Believe"
• "You Will Be Found"
• "Lord Guard and Guide"
• "God Bless America"
• "You'll Never Walk Alone / Climb Every Mountain"
• Audience Sing-Along: "America the Beautiful"
Rather than presenting a simple patriotic retrospective, We the People invites us to consider the American experiment itself: a nation continually shaped by ordinary people striving toward liberty, justice, compassion, faith, and community. Through narration and music, we reflect on where we have been, where we are, and the responsibilities we share in building a better future together.
Admission is free because we believe the arts should be accessible to everyone in our community. If this concert is meaningful to you, we invite you to consider selecting one of our supporter ticket levels.
The Timpanogos Singers must raise approximately $7,500 each season to cover essential operating expenses, including rehearsal space rentals, music purchases and licensing, performance venue costs, accompanists, sound equipment, and other production expenses. Every supporter ticket and donation helps us continue providing inspiring musical experiences for our community and allows us to keep many of our events free or low-cost for audiences. If every audience member contributed just $15–20, we would meet the fundraising needs for this concert and move significantly closer to our annual goal.
Whether you choose a free ticket or a supporter level, your presence matters. We hope you will join us for an evening of beautiful music and meaningful reflection as we celebrate the enduring promise found in three simple words:
We the People.
