In observance of America’s 250th anniversary, We the People: A Black American Testimony is a powerful original theatrical production that examines the nation’s founding ideals through the lived experiences, sacrifices, and voices of Black Americans.
Through a series of compelling monologues, historical projections, and live performance, this production brings history to life — not as distant memory, but as living testimony.
Featuring portrayals of:
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Harriet Tubman
Shirley Chisholm
Fred Hampton
Sojourner Truth
Ida B. Wells
Emmett Till
Trayvon Martin
George Floyd
Rev. James Reeb
Viola Liuzzo
and an original composite character, “The Girl They Never Saved”
Each actor delivers a focused, powerful monologue that invites the audience to reflect on sacrifice, justice, citizenship, and the meaning of “We the People.”
This production is written and produced by Jameesha Harris under The Harris Collective LLC and is designed to create conversation, reflection, and community impact.
