We are soliciting applications to participate as a demo rider (Friday, August 16) and/or competitor (Saturday/Sunday, August 17 & 18) at our upcoming Judge Training and Calibration session being held at the Oregon Horse Center's Prairie Arena. The purpose of the Judge Training event is to provide an opportunity for current licensed judges to continue to refine their skills through structured activities under the guidance of a highly-respected international WAWE judge, António Vicente, from Portugal.
More information about the seminar will be shared soon. It will include one day of lecture /discussion of videos held at the Holiday Inn and Suites on Kruse Lane in Springfield Thursday, August 15), and one day of watching / discussing live demo riders held at the Prairie Arena at the Oregon Horse Center (Friday, August 16), followed by two, back-to-back one day licensed competitions, also at OHC's Prairie Arena (August 17-18).
The Saturday competition will give judges attending the event the opportunity to listen to the presiding judge's comments and scores. The Sunday competition will give them the chance to score the rides as part of a callibration exercise that is part of the requirements for promotion as a judge. Only the presiding judges' scores will be used for placing at the competition.
Points / scores earned at these competitions can be used for Regional and National Leaderboard standing as well as to qualify for the Championships.
We are seeking demo riders at the following levels:
L7 - L5: 2-3 demo riders, total
L4 - L3: 2-3 demo riders, total
L2 - L1: 2-3 demo riders, total
We are seeking the following horse/rider pairs for the competitions:
L7 - Masters: 1-3 entries
L6 - Advanced: 1-3 entries
L5 - Intermediate B: 2-5 entries
L4 - Intermediate A: 4-5 entries
L3 - Novice B: 3 entries
L2 - Novice A: 3 entries
L1 - Introductory - 3 entries
Priority Registration will be granted to those competing in L4 and above, with additional spots opening up for L1 - L3 riders only if room remains.
Fees:
Show Entry Fee: $250 for one day of showing; $350 for both days.
Stabling: $50/night (whether used for horse or as a tack/feed stall)
Shavings: $10/bag
PLEASE DO NOT BRING OUTSIDE SHAVINGS IN -- we are charged an extra $35 per stall if any outside shavings are used.
Demo Rider Discount - If selected to participate as a demo rider, you will receive $250 off your entry fees (per equine you use for the demo rides)
Tack Stall: $100
Camping is available on site -- please make reservations directly with the Oregon Horse Center if you are planning to camp (we do not handle the camping spot reservations at all).
To participate, riders must be current members of USAWE, and all horses must be recorded with USAWE. If you are participating for schooling only, this requirement is waived.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Because of the need to pay in full for the facility and Judge expenses, regardless of weather or medical considerations, no refunds can be issued for this event (no exceptions).
