About this Event

Join We Met in Miami and the South Florida Center for the Percussive Arts for an evening of drumming, conversation, and community.

We'll learn the basics of percussion during a hand drumming class, connect through guided conversations in small groups, and end the night with a communal drum jam on drum sets.

No musical experience necessary. Whether you're a seasoned musician or you've never touched a drum before, you'll be part of creating something together.

Parking is free and plentiful.

Beer, wine and snacks will be available for purchase.

Here’s what to expect:

6 p.m. Arrival. Check in, choose your wristbands and make your name tags. Grab a drink and start mingling.

6:30 p.m. Opening. We’ll start with some introductions and a short icebreaker.

6:45 p.m. Hand drum class. Learn the basics of hand drumming in this interactive class.

7:15 p.m. Small group conversations. Dive deeper into connection through facilitated conversations.

7:45 p.m. Drum jam. Let's jam out together on drum sets! No experience necessary.

8:45 p.m. Group photo and mingle. Continue connecting.

9 p.m. Event end. Meet someone cool? Fill out a Connection Card! If you match, we’ll reconnect you after the event.

is the ambassador for percussion in South Florida. From presentations, rentals, recording, to customized educational community programs, the Center serves as a complete resource not only to students, but to professional musicians and organizations.
