WE-magining Memory: Taking a Snapshot of the West End
About this Event
What is in “imagining”?
Through engaging with images in all their forms - and piecing them together - we open doors to reimagine the future and look back at the past and present with fresh eyes. Done together, this act of "we-magining" turns memory into something stronger, more palpable, and collectively held.
This project uses community‑led art to make visible the West End's layered history and the changes it has faced. In a neighborhood undergoing constant transformation, collectively honoring memory becomes an act of resistance, resilience, and reimagining a neighborhood for all.
Comprised of two meetings in the West End (one indoors and one outdoors), this arts-based free workshop offers an opportunity to connect, create, reflect, and share stories about being a resident of the neighborhood.
The West End neighborhood is located on the unceded, ancestral, and traditional homelands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

- Outdoor gathering on Aug 30 - Barclay Heritage Square Park
