Trans & intersex whānau and allies,
Post-election time is an important moment to once again take a stand for our trans and intersex communities against NZ First’s Definitions of Woman and Man Bill. It is more important than ever to build a coalition against anti-trans legislation and rhetoric, regardless of which parties form the next government.
Join Queer Endurance in Defiance (QED)’s rally on Sunday, 15 November at 12 pm at Cuba St Bucket Fountain to make some noise for PATHA’s win in ruling the puberty blockers ban unlawful, and reiterate to the government that the Definitions Bill and any attack on trans rights will be loudly opposed.
The rally will feature guest speakers, chants, and a cathartic performance of shaming towards Winston Peters for heading the bill.
Please share this event with your friends and whānau and help us take a stand for our trans & intersex communities!
About QED:
QED is a group of radical queers fighting for queer rights and liberation through self-organised action. We came together to organise rallies against TERFism, and against bigotry.
QED has been engaged in the campaign to protect puberty blocker access since before the secondary legislation was announced. We organised last year's Hīkoi centering the issue, and later helped organise public forums and rallies, as well as ParTy4T, a market + gig event fundraising for PATHA’s legal costs - the event raised $3,475.
