Story & Rhyme Session for Under 5's and older residents
About this Event

Did you know that intergenerational activities can; reduce loneliness and social isolation, boost mental wellbeing and self confidence, and provide an opportunity for all generations to feel valued?

We are Friends is a special, heart-warming, intergenerational storytelling programme that brings older residents, under 5’s and their parents/guardians together - through storytelling and singing songs. There’ll be puppets, instruments, colorful scarves and bubbles, and you’ll all get a chance to create new friendships across the generations.

We are Friends at Wood Streetl Library will be on every Thursday stating on Thursday 7th December 2023

As part of the Council’s Best Start in Life offer we have funded The Together Project (the national charity that boosts wellbeing, reduces loneliness and fosters stronger, happier communities through joyful intergenerational activities) to deliver ‘We are Friends’ in collaboration with our Libraries service.

● Are you a family with an under 5 who would like to come along and make friends with older people in the community?

● Do you have an older relative or friend who might like to join you?

● Are you an older person who would like to come along to the story and rhyme sessions with the under 5’s?

● Are you a care home who would like to bring some of your residents to meet the little ones?

If you answer yes to any of the questions, then book your place and come along to join the fun!

The sessions will be held in four libraries across the borough, and start in Wood Street 1 Troubridge Square, Wood St, London E17 3HB, 11:00 to 11:30
