The afternoon will begin with a concert, opening with Heaton Voices, a community choir who bring warmth and passion to their arrangements, and showcasing Kanvee and Aslan, both singers and musicians seeking sanctuary in the North East of England after being forced to flee their home country.
There will be activities inspired by the Together With Refugees' orange heart campaign, including creating jewellery, banner and screen-printing designs which incorporate messages of welcome, love, and solidarity with refugees.
There will be staff and exhibition collaborators available to answer questions about the show.
A short film about the UK asylum system will also be shown.
There is no charge to attend this event, and we encourage donation tickets. If you're unable to attend the event, we are unfortunately unable to refund your donation.
