Managing weeds in home gardens can be a challenge, especially when weeds have already become established. This workshop will cover what makes a plant a W**d and general W**d management strategies for home gardeners. Participants will learn how to identify and manage about ten of the most common and threatening types of weeds that occur in the Florence area. We will focus on weeds that are actively growing at this time of year.
The workshop will start with a brief introductory presentation, followed by a walk around Miller Park to observe weeds. The walk will be along paved or gravel pathways and up to about half a mile.
This workshop will be presented by Rob Cuthrell, Ph.D., a historical ecologist and restoration ecology practitioner with over a decade of experience working with plants in open spaces on the Pacific Coast.
