WCS Presents... Antigone

In the aftermath of a civil war with no victors, the city of Thebes lies in ruins. When mighty king Creon takes the throne, the people rejoice at the prospect of peace. Until he declares that Polyneices – once a proud son of the city – is to be left to rot in the streets. Suddenly, Creon finds himself on a collision course with the will of the people and worse: the Gods. In this new adaptation by Owen McCafferty, Antigone questions the price of power – and what happens to those lost in its grip.
