What happens when a blues track comes on?
Do you feel grounded, musical, and ready to play with it — or do you suddenly feel like you’re searching for what to do?
That’s exactly what I want to work on with you. 💜
I’m excited to teach this 10-week progressive Blues series for experienced West Coast Swing dancers who want to feel more comfortable, expressive, and confident dancing to competition-style blues.
This isn’t about memorizing more patterns.
We’re going to spend 10 weeks actually understanding the music, developing the movement quality, and learning how to make your WCS feel like it belongs in a blues song.
We’ll explore:
- 🎶 Blues musicality, timing & rhythm
- 🔥 Groovy blues + jazzy blues
- 🕺 Blues pulse and movement quality
- ✨ Styling, texture & expression
- 🏆 Bringing it all together on the social and competition floor
The goal is for blues to stop feeling like the song you have to “get through” and start feeling like music you know how to dance.
And because this is a progressive series, we’ll have time to build instead of trying to squeeze everything into one workshop. Each week will connect to what came before it so you can actually develop the skills, experiment with them, and make them part of your dancing.

Level: WCS Level 3+
A solid Intermediate / Level 2.5 foundation is recommended.

You’ll have an extra opportunity to reinforce the material in our WCS 2.5 class Tuesdays at 7 PM, where we’ll also be working through Blues foundations during these 10 weeks.
