The Wayne County Gem and Mineral Club's GemFest features a variety of family friendly activities like soapstone carving, a sluice with plenty of treasures to discover, a scavenger hunt, rock painting, and Jerry the Geologist with his dinosaur.For those looking to learn about the lapidary (gem & mineral shaping and polishing for jewelry or decorative purposes) arts, we'll have wire wrapping tutorials and demonstrations as well as information on how to get started in the hobby!
Many vendors will be on hand as well selling gems, crystals, minerals for crafting and collecting, fossil specimens, beads, jewelry, and an assortment of shiny sparkling treasures!
1 day tickets are $5 cash at the door for adults, kids 12 & under free. Online advance purchase tickets include a $2.18 surcharge. We recommend paying cash at the door.
