WCEF26 accelerator session: Scaling Biobased Plastics for a Circular Future
About this Event
This is an official WCEF 2026 accelerator session
Circular plastics require a combination of reduction, reuse, mechanical recycling, chemical recycling, renewable carbon feedstocks, industrial biotechnology, and circular design. Bio-based materials, industrial biotechnology and circular design are essential to complement existing recycling systems and reduce dependence on fossil feedstocks.
This 90-minute WCEF Accelerator Session brings together leading Dutch and Indian innovators, industry, policymakers and investors to demonstrate how bio-based plastics can move from laboratory innovation to commercially viable circular value chains. Through short innovation pitches, an interactive panel discussion and audience engagement, the session will identify practical pathways for collaboration, investment and first-of-a-kind (FOAK) projects.
