About this Event
Wax carving for lost wax casting! Workshop led by Marley White.
Learn traditional wax working techniques for lost wax casting to create a unique piece of jewelry. In this workshop you will carve a ring from wax which will be then cast into sterling silver. We will review the process of lost wax casting and the abundant resources Los Angeles has to offer for jewelry makers. No experience necessary! This workshop is a great jumping off point to begin working with jewelry outside of an academic/learning environment.
Marley White is an artist and designer based in Los Angeles and holds a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in material studies. Marley teaches jewelry making at Otis College of Art and Design and has taught both in the product design and sculpture department. As well as designing personal collections, White has collaborated on jewelry lines with brands such as Pomegranate Press and Oddli.
