About this Event
WaveStrong! Water, Wellness, & You! Aquatic Aerobics after Breast Cancer.
Join us again in March for aquatic range of motion where we will spend 45 minutes of movement in a therapy pool (93-95 degrees). This exercise will improve strength, flexibility and balance while moving every joint of the body.
This low-to-moderate intensity aerobic exercise focuses on all muscle groups and joints of the body. This is especially helpful after breast cancer if you are experiencing range of motion issues or fatigue but want to get back into exercise. You will need a swimsuit, towel and water bottle. If you have any open wounds, bowel or bladder incontinence issues, please contact Emily Mallard at 205-313-7471 before signing up for the class.
WaveStrong Aquatic Aerobics will meet in-person weekly on Thursdays in March from 9:30am - 10:15am at Lakeshore Foundation, March 5th through March 26th (a 4 -week series). Aquatic Aerobics after Breast Cancer will be a fun experince for all!

From our Expert:
"Hi everyone! My name is Mary Teresa Knight, and I’ve been with Lakeshore Foundation for almost 10 years as an aquatics professional and instructor.
Throughout my time at Lakeshore, I’ve had the privilege of helping people of all ages and abilities build confidence, safety, and skill in the water.
I’m passionate about creating a supportive environment where participants feel seen, encouraged, and empowered—and where exercise can be both fun and effective.
This class is also personal to me. I’m a daughter and granddaughter of breast cancer survivors, and that perspective has shaped the way I show up with compassion, patience, and respect for every individual’s journey.
I’m excited to be partnering with Forge for these sessions, and I truly look forward to working with you all.
Sincerely,
Mary Teresa Knight "
