Waverley Community Garden turns 25

Celebrate Waverley Community Gardens 25th Birthday with talks, tours, cakes and more!
Waverley Community Garden was established in 1999 on the site of a former Scout Hall at the rear of Clementson Park Bondi Junction. Hidden away from street view, the garden sits in the lower section of Clementson park and is a thriving communtiy of like minded gardeners practicing organic gardening. Featuring fruit producing trees, individual garden beds, native frog ponds, a native bees colony and native flower gardens the garden is a wonderful place for education and celebration of the natural environment.
Join us at for this special occasion as the Garden turns 25 year old on our Open Weekend for a celebration of all things garden!

SATURDAY 16 NOVEMBER
Meet our community gardeners, get a tour of the garden and learn from Garden expert, landscape designer, horticulturist and educator Narelle Happ from A Garden for Life be be presenting a talk on native bee care, harvesting and caring for native foods and how to create a native pollinator garden.
Narelle specialises in native gardens and permaculture design and at this session Narelle will cover:

• Which plants grow well on balconies/small spaces
• Soil requirements
• How to make your own cutting mix
• Caring for your new plantings

  SUNDAY 17 NOVEMBER
  Join us for some refershments and a talk on Worm Farming and Composting!
  Have you wanted to try composting or worm farming your food scraps but your unsure where to start? Join us for a FREE workshop where you will learn the craft of composting and worm farming!

In the session you will hear about how to set up your system, identify what can and can’t go in your bin, and troubleshoot any tricky questions you may have. We will share practical tips to simplify the process and help you to avoid common pitfalls, perfect for beginners!
