About this Event

This workshop is designed for zoning board of adjustment or appeals members, local officials from counties, towns, cities and villages, zoning staff, and other interested people. We will discuss how zoning board members act like judges and how their decisions impact communities. Then we will take a deep dive into variance decisions covering the legal standards for granting a variance, how to incorporate town recommendations, how to create legally defensible decisions, and work through variance scenarios.
