Date: Thursday, July 30th 2026
Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm EST
Location: University Stadium, Wilfrid Laurier University (81 Seagram Ave, Waterloo, ON)
All 4,200 participants come together to celebrate their athletic accomplishments on the province’s biggest stage. Join us in kicking off a weekend of athletic success and accomplishment while experiencing community spirit, featuring an athlete parade, athlete oath, and a DJ concert!
The Waterloo Region 2026 Ontario Summer Games’ Fan Fest opens at 3:30pm. Enjoy local vendors, partners, and sponsorship activations.
Stadium gates open at 5:00pm. Please plan to arrive early to walk from parking, loading the venue, and finding seating. Seating is general admission - first come, first served. Accessible seating available - kindly note accessible seating needs in the ticket registration process.
A ticket is required to attend the Opening Ceremony and anyone arriving at the venue without a ticket will not be allowed through the gates. Children under two (2) years of age are free of charge.
Parking information below in FAQ section: The closest lots are University of Waterloo's Parking Lot A and C (Seagram Drive). **Please note: there is ZERO public parking at University Stadium, and vehicles will not be able to access the stadium lots.
Road Closure Information
Albert Street in Waterloo will be closed at Seagram Drive to Central Street. The road closure will begin at 3:00pm on Thursday, July 30. Vehicular traffic won't be able to access Albert Street from Bricker Ave. and Ezra Ave. Vehicles won't be able to turn right onto Albert Street from Seagram Drive.
