In this introductory session, you’ll learn the essential techniques that form the basis of watercolour painting. We’ll cover the materials you'll need, how to handle brushes, and the importance of water control. You’ll experiment with different washes, gradients, and colour mixing, allowing you to get comfortable with the flow of watercolour as you lay a solid foundation for future landscape work.
Workshop 2: Composition, Distance, and Colour in Landscape Painting
This session will focus on creating effective compositions and capturing the sense of space in your landscape. You’ll learn how to handle foreground, middle ground, and background elements, and how to use colour to create depth and distance. Chantal will guide you through practical exercises to help you understand perspective and how to make your landscape feel expansive and natural. You’ll leave this session with a deeper understanding of how to organize a landscape scene effectively.
Workshop 3: Guided Landscape Painting – Step-by-Step
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll follow Chantal as she leads you through painting a complete landscape from start to finish. Watch as she demonstrates each step, from sketching and underpainting to adding layers of colour and detail. You’ll have the opportunity to follow along and practice techniques in real-time while receiving personalized guidance. By the end of this session, you’ll have your very own landscape painting, along with new skills to apply in your future work.
Workshop 4: Student-Led Landscape Painting – Coaching and Feedback
In this final session, you’ll take the lead in creating your own landscape painting. Chantal will provide one-on-one coaching and feedback as you work, helping you refine your techniques, troubleshoot challenges, and explore your personal artistic style.
