Watercolor Pours with Buffy Kaufman

Paint expressive florals in Buffy Kaufman's "Poured Florals" class. Learn how to "pour" watercolor and enhance your painting with mixed media techniques! You will also explore color mixing, negative painting, and stenciling techniques during this workshop. (Stencils, mixed media supplies, and photo reference printouts will be shared in class.)The class is in a 3-hour format: a 1-hour demo followed by 2-hour painting time for attendees.

All Levels welcome, age minimum 14 years.

Materials Recommended: Bring your watercolor supplies, be sure to pack the following to paint along.

• Paper: 100% Cotton Cold or Rough press paper 9"x12" or larger

• Brushes: Quill, Round 8, Angle Shader 1/2" and Wash 3/4"

• Paints: Yellow, Orange, Red, Magenta, Turquoise, Blue

• Additionally: Board to tape paper to, towel or tray to pour excess paint onto, Pencil, Eraser, Tape, Water Cups, Toilet Paper or paper towels, Tooth Brush, Paint Mixing Cups, Spray Mister or Spray Bottle, Dryer.

• Brushes: Princeton Aqua Elite Quill size 6 and the Princeton Aqua Elite Professional 4pc Set (set includes Round 2, Round 8, Angle Shader 1/2" and Wash 3/4")

About the Artist: Bio: Buffy Kaufman was born and raised in Southern California. Creativity and its ties to natural materials are interwoven into her practice. Buffy is a Brand Ambassador for Daniel Smith Watercolors. Her core belief is that art is better shared, so she recycles her studies back into the art community by teaching in person and online classes. Her current artistic pursuit is a spontaneous and satisfying painting method called watercolor pouring.

Past Instructor at Miami Watercolor Society, Hawaii Watercolor Society, and Coachella Watercolor Society and have ongoing classes at The Fallbrook School of the Arts and The Green Art House in Fallbrook, CA.
