About this Event
Join us for a delightful and creative workshop where you will learn to paint realistic portraits of your beloved pets with oil paint. Acrylic paint is welcome, but Rose will be teaching oil painting. This class is perfect for pet lovers and aspiring artists alike, whether you're a complete beginner or have some painting experience.
In this hands-on workshop, you will discover the techniques necessary to create a lifelike representation of your furry friend. Rose will guide you through the process, covering essential topics such as composition, color mixing, and brushwork. You'll learn how to capture your pet's personality and unique features, ensuring that your finished portrait truly reflects your companion.
Please come to class with two 8.5 x 11 reference photos of your pet’s portrait for painting, (one in black and white to see values and one in color to match color). You may also bring your iPad with the photo reference.
Taking multiple photos with good lighting and expression from different angles can help you choose the best reference for your painting. We will be focusing on the portrait with simple backgrounds.
