Watercolor Animals with Mary PeschMonday & Wednesday, July 20 & 22: 6-8:30 pm
Learn to paint animals using traditional watercolor paints. Students will choose one of 3 animals: a lamb, parakeet or horse. The techniques of bleeding colors, masking, wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry will be demonstrated. Step-by-step worksheets and outline drawings of the subjects will be provided to each student to aid in learning. It’s an encouraging environment and all skill levels are welcome. This project is best suited for beginners with some experience. Some supplies are provided, students should bring Water Color Paper (Strathmore or Blick, 9 x 12, cold press Block (bound on 4 sides prevents warping) OR Spiral Notebook and Sketch Clip Board, 15x16, (used to tape down paper to prevent warping) and Water color Brushes—Winsor & Newton, Cotman (student version) set of round brushes containing range of sizes (suggestion) 0, 2, 4, 6 and ¼” flat.
