As part of Earth Day Expo, water testing (not certified) will be offered as a way to bring attention and understanding to water quality issues in the Black Hills. *A sampling bottle will need to picked up to capture your water sample. These will be available for $5, along with instructions, at the Missouri River Pipeline & Water Conservation Panel Discussion on Friday, April 24 from 4:30 to 7:00 pm at Hay Camp Brewing (601 Kansas City Street, Rapid City). Then drop off your samples for testing from 10 am to 1 pm at the Earth Day Expo on Saturday, April 25 in EET Lab L126 at Western Dakota Tech. For more info about the Expo: https://www.facebook.com/share/1Hhe2qRvNe/
Water samples will be tested for:
Copper
Iron
Manganese
Sulfate
Alkalinity
Hardness
Nitrate
Water produced by the City of Rapid City water is regularly tested - certified results will be available at the Earth Day Expo and are currently online here: https://www.rcgov.org/departments/public-works/water-division/water-quality-reports-854.html.
**Rapid City tap water will be tested for copper only.
