Who: This event is for Veterans and family members that have completed the Newcomers: Introduction to Whitewater Kayaking. Trip Leader: Jess Christian
Event: Watauga Release Run
River Class: II
When: June 13th at 3pm.
Where: Meet at David McQueen Riverside Park - 645 W Riverside Dr Park, Elizabethton, TN 37643. We will set shuttle and then run the river down to the Watauga boat ramp takeout.
Equipment:
Each participant will need to bring: Non-cotton clothing appropriate for cold water + forecast temperatures, closed toed water shoes that will stay on in the river, hydration source (water bottle, Gatorade, etc), and snacks as needed.
Items provided by TRR: Helmet, Boat, Paddle, Skirt, PFD, Dry Bag, some water shoes are available as needed.
Safety boaters will carry throw ropes, a first aid kit, and other appropriate safety gear.
