Do you want to get involved and encourage people to vote in November? Join the Washington Township Democratic Club for our eighth 2026 GET-OUT-THE-VOTE Canvassing event on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
Washington Township Precinct Committeepersons, Vice Precinct Committeepersons, and volunteers should meet at 10 am at Broad Ripple Park on the Southside of the parking lot next to the dog park to get materials and training before heading out to your precincts (or those listed below) to start knocking doors to encourage voters to check their registrations, obtain an absentee ballot, and find out where to go when it's time to vote in-person.
GOTV door hangers have been provided by the Washington Township Democratic Club. Party slate door-hangers, specific to your precinct, will be distributed at these organized canvassing events for PCs. We are asking ALL PCs to please rsvp for one of these Saturday morning events (taking place now through the election) via the Mobilize link here: http://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/1013919/
No experience necessary - we'll show you what to do!
IMPORTANT: Before arriving on Saturday, make sure that you have downloaded the MiniVan app to your phone.
What is MiniVAN and how do I use it? MiniVAN is the canvassing app PCs use to canvass to Democratically leaning households in their precinct. Download it on your phone's the App Store. Here is a quick video on how to use MiniVAN.
Make sure to get your precinct voter contacts and “list number” for MiniVAN BEFORE ARRIVING ON SATURDAY, which includes the addresses and names of all the Democratic-leaning voters in your precinct. Email Steve Kane, our Washington Township Committee Chair to request your list. His email is [email protected].
What if I need help printing flyers or getting resources?
Please email Megan Alderman, Precinct Captain, at [email protected].
What if I need more resources on how to canvass?

Which precincts are high-target areas? The MCDP has identified 25 “highly targetable” precincts (moderate propensity voters) within Washington Township. Of these 25, 11 of them have no Precinct Committeeperson. These are precincts that have voters with a moderate turnout and a large number of democratic voters – our goal is to make sure that they DEFINITELY turnout to vote!
