In addition to the core rules presented by Warmaster Revolution, all optional rules are used.
Armies must be selected using WMR Armies 2.25, with updates from the 2025 Warmaster Annual.

Rev 03ROSTER SUBMISSION
You can use the ‘Warmaster Companion’ army builder app that is free online, or Warmaster Selector (so long as
you are using the updated version).
The TO will require you to upload your list on Best Coast Pairings (BCP).
Please aim to do this 5 days before the event to allow lists to be shared with all attendees ahead of time.
TERRAIN
Tables will be set up prior to each round.
Before each game begins, players should discuss the scenery on their table and identify between themselves what
each piece is. If they cannot agree on what a terrain piece should be, they should ask the event TO to clarify, the
same as with a rules query. Note that a terrain conventions summary has been included as Appendix A. Ontario
tournament terrain conventions adopt WMR Advanced Rules 2.1 Beta_0.3 to assist with testing and feedback of those
rules, so be sure to review villages (and dense forest and roads if in use).
Players are not permitted to move, add, or remove any piece of terrain on a table, except for making way for a
zone or objective when setting up a scenario.
FORMAT
The tournament is played over a series of rounds, during which each player is paired with another player and plays
a scenario decided by the TO. During each round, all players play the same scenario.
This rules pack contains the 3 scenarios intended to be used in this tournament (credit to several UK tournament
packs for the original basis of some of these scenarios).
CHESS CLOCKS
Players SHOULD aim to use Chess clocks during their games (there are free apps for your phone), with each player
allocated 80 minutes, inclusive of deployment.
The intent of Chess Clocks is not to be overly prescriptive in their application, but please use them to be mindful of
providing your opponent with an enjoyable game, by ensuring they receive as close to equal share of the available
time for each match as possible, and speeding up (or passing) your order phase in the late game if you took too
long in the early game.
RECORDING RESULTS AND PLAYER RANKINGS
At the end of each game, the players should advise the TO the result and the number of tournament-points each
player has scored.
Player ranking uses total games won followed by total tournament points. In the event a player breaks an
opponent but has accrued less tournament points, that player will be awarded additional points to equal the
opponent – but note that an equal tournament points result is a draw, not a win to the player who broke their
opponent, and a player with more ‘wins’ will still place above a player with more points but less ‘wins’.
EVENT PAIRINGS
In the first round, player pairings and tables are randomly determined.
Players may use the ‘teams’ function on BCP to avoid a first-round pairing against a regular opponent if desired.
• Challenges. Players can challenge an opponent for the first round, and if the challenge is accepted, they
will be paired off before the remaining pairings are resolved randomly.
This may be to settle grudges, or simply to arrange matchups neither player has had before.
In subsequent rounds, tables and pairing are determined using a Swiss system. This means that players will be
paired with other players that have won an equal number of games, using the current rankings to determine the
pairings.
Rev 03ADDITIONAL ARMY RULES
None - Armies remain as described in WMR Armies 2.25, with updates from the 2025 Warmaster Annual.
FALL 2025 TOURNAMENT SPECIAL
Regiments of Renown
All armies will be permitted to include up to 2 ‘Regiments of Renown,’ following all the rules for selecting such
regiments (including limits on availability) from pages 84 onwards in WMR Armies.
This is a special rule we’ll likely use in at least one tournament a year to allow players to have fun with a hobby
project, bring something a little unusual into their list (a ‘counts-as’ an RoR), paint some famous mercenaries, or
maybe add a regiment from a newly started army project as a ‘counts as’.
Note that WM Companion App does not currently include RoR options (although we understand it may be added
this year) so some manual editing of your list may be required. Please submit your lists ahead of time to allow the
additional time needed to verify your list.
Base Camps and a reason not to sell the lives of your troops lightly
In addition, the Fall 2025 tournament introduces the ‘Base Camp’ rule and the ‘K*ll points difference’ scoring
mechanic. Hopefully these will prove popular and will see use in future tournaments.
WINNING THE EVENT
The player ranked as number 1 at the completion of the 3rd round is the winner.
AWARDS
● First place
● Second place
● Third place (only if we have enough attendees)
● Best Pained
PAINTING REQUIREMENTS
There are no painting requirements for this event. However, a fully painted army is encouraged, and the ‘best
painted’ army will take home a prize. ‘Best painted’ might consider overall theme and cool ideas as well as
technical brush skills, or the lift involved to paint an army in limited time. The award is intended as an opportunity
for us all to admire each other’s hobby ☺.
Painting requirements were removed to allow more people to get involved and play and to build the Ontario
Warmaster community.
CONVERSIONS, PROXIES/PRINTED MODELS AND VINTAGE MODELS
Models from a variety of ranges and conversions are encouraged, but units must be easily distinguishable from
different unit types by some means. Players should clarify with their opponents if they are uncertain as
to a unit’s identity before or during games.
