About this Event
🎭 Workshop: “Warm Ups is What’s Up!”
Taught by: Kaisa Kokko-Palmer (she/her) – Finland
Level: Intermediate/Advanced
Date & Time: Saturday, May 23 · 14:30–17:30
Location: Fringe Club, Central, Hong Kong
📝 Workshop Description:
Can three hours of warming up make you a better actor? Absolutely.
Warm-up games in improvisation are designed to open your body and mind to play. Ideally, they bring people together, build instant connection, and transport everyone into a world of curious creativity. In this workshop, we will explore warm-up exercises for the full three hours. You read that right!
Boring? Not even a little bit. Useful? More than you can imagine. Great warm-up exercises contain every fundamental aspect of improvisational theatre. Together, we will recognize, deepen, and explore these hidden mechanics to sharpen your performance skills. Expect to play, laugh, get emotional, and stretch as an actor. You’ll leave with a massive new repertoire of games and a much deeper understanding of the vital lessons these exercises hold for the stage.
🧘 How to Show Up
- Arrive early – please plan to arrive 10 minutes before class so we can start and end on time.
- Wear comfortable, movement-friendly clothes that cover you fully (you’ll be moving around the space).
- Bring a reusable water bottle – hydration is creativity!
