All battles will be 1v1 with some special rules / scenarios.
Special rules for the weekend:
#1 Tunnels Battles
The battles are fought in the tunnels and caverns of Karak Eight Peaks. The side edges of the table / board are rocky walls.
• You cannot flee off the side of the board. The long table edges are the only direction you can flee off the board and will be your ‘nearest table edge’.
• If you flee towards the side walls, you stop at the wall. If a unit pursuing your unit reaches you where you stopped, you are destroyed.
• Units that are wounded or killed when moving / pursuing into terrain (fanatics, chariots etc) and move into the wall crashes dies. Why did you go that way???
• Flyers that flee or overrun into the side ‘walls’ take D6 S4 hits (any point of base hitting wall even just if corner).
#2 Mining the Eight Peaks:
To prepare for their invasion of the Dwarfen hold, unit champions, lord and heroes have been trained to quickly mine ores, minerals and treasures from the very stone.
Each table will have 5 ‘mining’ markers – if you have a unit with a champion or character on this at the END of your turn, you roll to see what treasure you have mined (TABLE BELOW) this includes cavalry and monsters, they simply jump off to get the job done!
This can also be done in combat – but your unit champion or character cannot fight while the rest of the unit protects him from his mining. Monster mounts can also protect their rider while individual heroes mine! Obviously, a single model on foot cannot mine while in combat as they will just get stabbed!
Each unit champion in your army list has a free great weapon for the mining pick they have brought with them.
One you have mined, you roll a DND-style D20 (that will be provided at the event) and look at the table below…
Mining rolling table (lasts rest of battle unless stated otherwise):
20 – WARPSTONE– Your champion or hero now has the fellblade (S10 & D6 Wounds – roll dice at end of turn. On a 1 or 2 hero takes a wound). He must drop other weapons.
19 – OBSIDIAN – Your unit finds the magically resistant black stone, obsidian. Your unit now has +2 magic resistance.
18 - METERORITE – Your unit finds metal landed from the stars containing the aura of the Old Ones. Your unit is now Immune to Psychology.
17 – ITHILMAR: You find traces of the lightweight magical elven metal that makes weapons easier to wield. Your unit now has +1 weapon skill.
16 – TOXIC SLUDGE: You find some strange pungent ooze that’s your soldiers dip their weapons into (including shooting weapons). You now have poisoned attacks.
15 – JEWELS: Finding beautiful jewels, your soldiers hold them up to tempt your opponents as they charge in. When you are charged, your opponent has to re-roll successful hits on the first round of combat.
14 – POWER STONES: You find stone glowing with magical power. Your army gets +1 power dice for the rest of the battle. Dwarf and Khorne armies get +1 dispel instead.
13 – WHETSTONE: You find the stone famed for sharpening tools. Your unit now has an extra -1 armour piercing for hand-to-hand & shooting weapons, that can be stacked onto any armour minus scores you already have (eg strength or magic items that have it).
14 – DAEMON SKULL: You find a monstrous skull dripping in foul magic. Your Unit now has a bound item magical missile. Range “18 - 2d6 s3 hits. Bound Level 4 to be dispelled.
13 – SILVER: Your unit find the metal famous for cutting through magical defences. No ward saves can be taken from attacks from this unit.
12 – DESECRATED CORPSE: You find a horribly mutilated corpse from some chaos ritual. It is somehow still alive and its scream are deafening. Your unit holds the unit aloft. Your unit now causes terror.
11 – ANCIENT DWARVEN HORN: You find a magnificent runic horn that can be blown to inspire your comrades. On the turn you find it, all fleeing troops automatically rally. At the end of your subsequent turns roll a D6. on a 4 up all fleeing troops will rally.
10 – PARCHMENT: In soft earth, you find an ancient scroll in a protective casing. Your army now has 1 extra (one use) dispel scroll.
9 – COAL – Finding coal, your unit starts a fire to protect them from incoming enemies. Your unit can now use ‘Wall of fire’ from the lore of fire as a bound spell. HOWEVER - The spell can only be cast within 5” of the front of your unit in their line of sight. Remains in play. Bound power level 5 to be dispelled.
8 – GLASS – You find sand that had long ago been hit by lightning and its heat turned it to glass. Smashing it and throwing it in front of your unit, any unit that charges you now takes D6 S3 hits.
7 – ANCIENT DRUMS: In the dirt you find some fine tailored drums covered in runes, when using them you find your unit marches more effectively. Your unit now has +1” movement (+2” on a charge / march)
6 – STEAM – A hot geyser sprays from the ground hiding the unit. For your opponents next turn your unit can not be shot at (by artillery, shooting or magic missiles).
5 – EARTHQUAKE! Your mining causes above rocks to fall. Roll a D6 – on a 1-2 your unit is affected. On a 3-6 your nearest enemy unit is affected. The affected unit takes D6 S5 hits even if in combat. If you or the enemy unit are in combat, before rolling to wound, resolve who each rock falling is hitting. On a 1-3 it is your unit hit and 4-6 it hits the enemy unit. (Roll for each hit, so stones can fall on both units). Then roll to wound.
4 – MUD – Disappointed and angry at their find, your unit flings the useless mud an oncoming chargers. Any units that charge you have -1 weapon skill on first round of combat and are -1” movement.
3 - GROMRIL: You mine the famed metal used for dwarven armour– your unit has +1 armour (to a max of 1 up save) for the rest of the battle.
2 - MUSHROOMS: Your starving soldiers gorge themselves on magical mushrooms which gets them high as a kite. Your unit has +3 initiative and leadership 10 for the rest of the battle. At the end of the game, before victory points are counted up, your unit takes D6 S3 hits as the mushrooms start to poison them.
1 - SINKHOLE: Your miner has found a sinkhole and your unit falls into it. The unit can not move for another turn.
SPECIAL NAMED CHARACTERS ARE NOW ALLOWED
Famous named special characters (Malekith, Skarsnik, Karl-Franz, Mannfred Von Carstien etc) are ALLOWED.
However, we only can have one version of that character per event. For example, there can’t be 2 Beastmen armies with Khazrak One Eye or 2 wood elf armies with Orion.
So if you want the character in your army, you need to buy a ticket to be able to reserve that character so nobody else uses him/her as it will be a first come, first serve system with characters.
There is no reserving of characters without a ticket purchased.
Once you have purchased a ticket, we will contact you asking what character you have to use - if you do not want to use a special character that is fine!
You can only have 1 special named character or group that has to be together (eg Gotrek and Felix or Hemmler and Krell) per army when getting your ticket – Once all armies are in and all those that want a special character has reserved him /her, you can then reserve special named ‘hero’ characters too.
However, Archaeon, Teclis and Thyrus Gormann are dead in our lore so they cannot be chosen in this event.

There is no lunch provided but element games has a order system that brings take away food directly to your table! There is also a bar for drinks and snacks.
FAQS:
- Yes your army has to be fully painted (each model has to have at least 3 colours) and based on a correct size base (contact us if you are not sure of official sizes).
- Yes proxy models are fine as long as they are easily recognisable (or at least with a bit of explanation!) and are on the correct base size.
- We cannot give refunds as we have to pay for the venue soon. All we suggest is if you cant make it, find a replacement to purchase a ticket off you on the Warhammer Fantasy Facebook pages.
- We cannot 'reserve' places at the event. Only purchasing a ticket guarantees you a place at the event.
- You cannot 'reserve' a special character until your ticket has been purchased. Please feel free to message 'Dave Warhammer' or the 'Tales From The Old World' page on Facebook to see if your character is still available.
- When it comes to army lists and special characters, as long as it is listed in an official GW publication (inc white dwarf) it is allowed unless it is against any other of the event rules. We reserve the right to politely ask for changes if your army is clearly overpowered (you dont want everyone to hate you do you haha)
-Dogs of war are allowed but we reserve the right to reject lists and ask for amendments if your choices go totally against Warhammer lore and take away the needed disadvantages of armies (E.g. adding artillery to vampire count armies, or Cavalry to dwarf armies etc)
