Hailing from San Angelo, TX, War Child delivers a high-energy fusion of psychedelic rock, blues, and funk. Formed from late-night jam sessions at a local brewery, the band thrives on groove, feel, and raw connection. Their live show moves seamlessly between hard-hitting riffs, hypnotic keys, deep pocket rhythms, and expansive jams that invites the audience in and doesn’t let go.
At the center is guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Zachary Vaughn Peterson, whose sound is shaped not only by influences like Jimi Hendrix, Lightnin’ Hopkins, and John Lee Hooker, but also by years of military service including combat deployments as a US Army Paratrooper. That lived experience brings an added weight and intensity to the music, turning every performance into something honest, unfiltered, and deeply felt.
