Rachel Laven (USA) is a self-proclaimed “Outlaw Folk” artist whose music is steeped in the Texas songwriting tradition. Raised in a musical family in San Antonio TX, she wrote her first song at 10 and recorded a debut album with her family band, The Lavens, by 13. Her early start laid the foundation for a presence onstage that is sincere, assured, and soulful.
Shaped by influences like Susan Gibson, Brandi Carlile, Guy Clark, and Sheryl Crow, Rachel’s breakthrough came in 2016 when she won the prestigious New Folk Songwriting Competition at the Kerrville Folk Festival. That same year she released her second album, Love & Luccheses, showcasing warm vocals and intimate lyrics exploring love in all its forms.
Now based in Nashville TN and working on her third full-length album, Rachel has toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe, captivating audiences with her storytelling and stage presence. Whether performing solo or with a full band, her songs resonate on a deeply personal level. Don’t miss this chance to see 'real deal' Rachel Laven live in Mayanup Hall.
