Following performances in Kununurra, Warmun, Halls Creek, Wangkatjungka and Fitzroy Crossing, Wanim arrives in Broome for a special tour finale at the Pigram Theatre, Broome Civic Centre.
Experience a powerful intercultural and intergenerational performance that brings together song, story and contemporary sound from across the vast landscapes of the Kimberley. For this celebratory finale, renowned artists Stephen Pigram and Chris GriGiths join the core ensemble of next-generation Kimberley musicians Chase Pigram and Bart Marr alongside three of Australia's leading contemporary improvising musicians: Mary Rapp, Carl Dewhurst and Tayla Valenti.
Wanim creates music shaped by Country and curiosity, where deep listening becomes collaboration and every performance unfolds as a unique conversation. Richly grounded in Kimberley Country while reaching beyond musical boundaries, it is a powerful expression of culture through sound that celebrates the Kimberley as a vital centre of contemporary Australian music.
