500 hundred years of boom and bust have gifted riverside Woolwich with a mix of 18th century military factories, palatial Victorian municipal buildings and 1930s Art Deco, much of which has been sympathetically restored through recent new investment.

This is the origin story of Arsenal FC and one of Britain’s most powerful military supports through the empire and two world wars.
