About this Event
Join us for Workshop #2 of the MLK Jr. Regional Shoreline Improvement Project at Oakport — a guided community walking tour along one mile of shoreline.
After gathering ideas and priorities during our first co-design session, we’re heading outdoors to experience the site together. This interactive tour will explore a one-mile stretch of the shoreline where future restoration and public access improvements are being considered.
Tell us your ideas for improving our shoreline so we can put your input into action.
$30 gift cards will be available for the first 40 participants who attend and complete the walking tour.
Snacks and a light lunch will be provided during a reflection stop along the tour.

About SupplyBank.org & the Oakport Project
SupplyBank.org is an Oakland-based nonprofit with a vision that all people have the essential supplies they need. Through a trusted network of over 700 public and nonprofit agencies, we’ve distributed more than $100 million worth of basic necessities—like diapers, school supplies, and hygiene items—to under-resourced children and families across California.
Now, as the nonprofit developer of the Oakport Project, we’re proud to bring that same spirit of community impact to our hometown. The Oakport Project aims to restore and enhance Oakland’s shoreline—improving habitat, creating new parkland, and providing spaces where residents can connect with nature. This community workshop will be facilitated by one of our community engagement partners, Hood Planning Group.
