Join us for a special storytime and activity hour celebrating Walking On A Trail by Michigan author Allison Bartlette, a gentle, nature-loving children’s book rooted right here in our local landscape.
Through poetry, repetition, and beautifully placed clues, Walking On A Trail invites young readers to slow down and notice the world around them, from bobwhite quail and white-tailed deer to monarch butterflies and peregrine falcons. During this family-friendly event, kids will enjoy an interactive read-aloud, hands-on activities, and plenty of chances to move, wonder, and ask questions. It’s designed for curious kids and the grownups who love reading with them.
Perfect for anyone raising tiny humans with big questions, this event encourages environmental curiosity. The story gently reminds children (and adults) that caring for nature starts with noticing it, and that small actions really can make a difference.
Come read, explore, and connect with a Michigan author who understands that some of the best adventures begin on a simple trail. Can't visit to join the (indoor) hike? Preorder your copy on Bookshop.org for the January 13th release or at the ticket link below for a signed copy!
