Walk Tonbridge Festival 2026 -Walking The Medway, Rail Hike
About this Event
Join Mike Evans for a relaxed social hike from Tonbridge along the Medway, which will return by train.
We will meet at Tonbridge Old Fire Station at 09:30 for a coffee (own expense) before setting off at approximately 10:00.
This picturesque route will take you along the banks of The River Medway, where you will see some gorgeous riverside scenery and potentially some wildlife.
Bring a picnic as there will be a stop along the way to enjoy a break and some food.
As this a linear walk you can choose how far you walk, with distances ranging from approximately 8.5-13 miles.
Tonbridge to Yalding = 8.5 miles
Tonbridge to Wateringbury = 10 miles
Tonbridge to East Farleigh = 13.5 miles
Group rail travel back to Tonbridge will be covered by Kent Community Rail Partnership for those returning from East Farleigh with Mike, otherwise this will be at your own expense.
On your return to Tonbridge at approximately 5pm there will be the option of enjoying a drink (own expense) in one of the local pubs!
Your walk leader Mike, is an experienced walker who regularly walks long distance routes in and around Tonbridge.
All donations for this walk will be donated to Sustain food bank.
