Walk Maryland Day: All Explorers Walk

Join Montgomery Park on Wednesday, October 1st, for Walk Maryland Day, a celebration of Maryland's official exercise: walking! Our trek for all walkers ages 55+ begins at Wheaton Regional Park at 10 AM, where participants will embark on a 3 mile hike along the park's paved and natural trails.

During the walk, you will also have the option to walk with Dr. Marsha Seidelman, who is board certified in Internal Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Seidelman will hold a 5-10 minute lecture about practical and fun ways to meet recommended physical activity guidelines for heart and brain health, along with the benefits of exercising in nature, before joining the rest of the walk. Following the walk, walkers will enjoy a fun-filled afternoon with a DJ, games,and food! The event is free; however, advanced registration is required for planning purposes.

We will meet at Picnic Pavilion A to get started. You will receive a detailed email before the program with more information about where to meet, parking, and what to expect. Please help us conserve space and protect the enviornment by carpooling to the event if possible.
